PSIA and AASI
The Profesional Ski Instructors Of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) are the certifying body for ski and snowboard instructors in the USA. www.thesnowpros.org
Given the vast size of the USA the PSIA - AASI is made up of nine regional divisions.
While in Snowbird you will be in the PSIA - AASI Intermountain Division.
The PSIA - AASI level one exam will equip you with the knowledge and ability to teach adults and children in both the beginner and novice zones.
Sucess at Level 1 opens the door to further qualifications up to Level 3 which allows you to teach all levels of skiing.
This is an excellent introduction to the world of ski instructing, and Snowbird is a brilliant place to start your career. There will be many opportunities after the course to get work or continue skiing.
